How Do YOU Think They Do It?!

Ever wanted to be a philanthropist?! I have!! I just even like that word, so thought I'd give it a little color! I've wanted to be a philanthropist ever since I was about 10 years old. I remember seeing this really cool man on the Johnny Carson show when I was visiting at my grandparent's house one time. He was ONE OF THOSE ... PHILANTHROPIST!! :o)

I remember one of the stories they were talking about where a little boy had written in to him for a new bike and he got him one. How did it work?? Well, this man was RICH (another one of those FUN words!!) and somehow people would write to him in a newspaper column. He (and maybe others on his trusted staff, I really don't recall if they said he read each one himself or not) would read their letters and decide if they were sincere and if they were someone he was going to help. Let me tell you, as a 10 year old little girl(or there about), I just thought that was the TOTALLY COOLEST thing ever... ONE person had ALL THIS MONEY and was GIVING IT ALL AWAY!!!! I had never heard of anything like that, but I knew I wanted to do that.

After I got over the initial excitement, the first thing I thought of was how'd he do that??

Well, of course, this gentleman had somehow developed himself into a successful businessman, and personally, I'd like to think... WISE STEWARD OF GOD'S MONEY. I don't remember what his occupation or business was that he had used to accumulate this wealth, but whatever it was, I do remember thinking again... well, how am I going to be able to do that??

Know any philanthropists? Ever wanted to be one?! If so, how do YOU intend on going about making it happen?!! More than just having a successful career and more than just being a successful entrepreneur, HOW DO YOU BECOME A PHILANTRHOPIST?!?

What's your idea?!! Of course, I believe it starts with the HEART...
